When it comes to hardware stores, most people’s first reaction is the messy shelves and dusty tools. It is related to practicality but has nothing to do with aesthetics and luxury. But today’s design of this hardware store is subverting this stereotype. When the metal handle turns into an art installation on the wall. When the display rack becomes the visual focus of the space. Hardware stores are no longer tool warehouses but rather exhibition halls of life aesthetics that combine functionality and beauty.
Design concept
The products displayed in traditional hardware stores are numerous and chaotic. From small items like handles and hinges to large ones like door locks and hinges, scattered parts often make the space feel crowded. Our design is to reconstruct the spatial logic with wall-mounted display units. Entering the store, the first thing that catches the eye is a series of vertical display frames. The light wood and dark grey backboard is like a canvas. All kinds of hardware are arranged and inlaid in an orderly manner.
The long strip-shaped handles form longitudinal lines, and the circular decorative pieces are transformed into color blocks for embellishment. Even the tiny hinges are arranged in a matrix pattern to form visual symbols. These display frames are no longer shelves but movable product art paintings. Not only is the space kept neat and orderly through uniform dimensions and color schemes, but every piece of hardware also becomes an exhibit.
Display Stands
If we say that the wall display frame is the background. Then the creative display rack is the visual core of the space. In the central area of this store, a set of spiral display racks is particularly eye-catching. The light blue-green stepped structure is like an art installation unfolding layer by layer. Different styles of handles are placed on each floor. Not only does it allow the product to be displayed in 360°, but it also becomes a must-visit spot in the space with its unique shape.
On the other side, the layered display features simple geometric lines combined with a metallic texture. The large hardware items on the display rack complement the small parts on the wall, which not only enriches the display layers but also keeps the space harmonious through a unified color scheme. The stepped structure makes it convenient for customers to take products of different heights. The folding frame is convenient for transportation and adjustment. The storage space at the bottom can also hold inventory.
Wall display racks
The wall display rack of this hardware store is a core design that combines functionality and aesthetics, breaking through the hardware display with four highlights:
Structure: It adopts a folding screen style and a suspended modular design. The vertical display modules are framed with dark metal. The backboard is in wood or grey, resembling a decorative painting that can be opened and closed. The module can be freely extended and retracted by hinges. The top is suspended by a metal hanger and the bottom is suspended, which not only saves space but also appears light and airy.
Display: Follow the logic of classification and aesthetics. In the same module, similar hardware is displayed centrally and arranged in an orderly manner by size/shape. Material: Balances the industrial feel with a light texture. Wood veneer/matte panels neutralize the cold hardness of metals. The slender metal frame avoids being bulky, and the green plants embellish the style to soften it.
